The Director of Nursing Long Term Care (LTC) Leadership Program is a comprehensive course designed for the licensed professional who has a desire to be an effective nurse leader in the LTC setting. The intricate field of LTC can be difficult to navigate without a clearly defined rationale to apply to everyday operations. An educated staff is the foundation that will support a sound and successful facility. Without regular education and effective leadership skills training, facility care could result in poor resident outcomes, legal and regulatory ramifications and possibly financial loss.
This course content is constructed to be practical and focused on some of the most important components of LTC, quality of care, and compliance with federal regulations. Federal Regulations are the minimum standard of care. The material in this program is based on CMS guidelines and consistent with JCAHO standards.
Mentoring activities are recommended to add a nurturing network and proactive environment for learning as opposed to the difficult method of learning by trial and error. These activities and feedback validation exercises are included in this program.
